Dornbracht CYO with new architectural concepts
Iserlohn, 8. November 2021
This May, Dornbracht introduced the CYO series in two highly inspiring architectural worlds. Now, Dornbracht is expanding its inspirational CYO bathroom designs with two additional architectural concepts, offering architects and planners ideas for very individual solutions that transform the bathroom into a personal retreat with architecture that can be experienced up close. The versatility of the new bathroom fitting design is demonstrated by the interplay of very different material compositions.
The enormous importance of materials for architecture and interior design becomes particularly evident in the bathroom. It is the individual properties of these materials that bring architecture to life: They can feel warm or cool and be smooth or textured. They can reflect, capture or transform light. And acoustically they also influence how we perceive a room. When combined, they can evoke associations with nature or with urban or even futuristic spaces.
“Materials are of fundamental importance to Dornbracht. For years, this importance has manifested itself both in the bathrooms in which our design series are presented and in the carefully curated selection of finishes in the Dornbracht portfolio,” says Stefan Gesing, CEO of Dornbracht AG & Co. KG, and he adds: “In this way, we can offer architects and planners inspiration and diverse design options for their projects.”
The company is now expanding its bathroom designs with two additional architectural worlds for the new CYO fitting design. The “Oasis” and “Metropolitan” bathrooms are complemented by the new, inspiring “Mystical” and “Delight” bathroom designs.
While “Metropolitan” as a spacious room concept embodies opulence and sensual luxury and combines a masculine roughness with a noble shine through monolithic elements, clear lines and high-quality materials, the “Oasis” bathroom is primarily about nature. Soft, warm tones and natural colors with lush planting and river stones convey above all a connection to nature and a sense of mindfulness. The finishes of the CYO fittings in Brushed Durabrass for “Metropolitan” and in Dark Platinum matt for the “Oasis” concept were chosen to perfectly complement the design.
The new “Mystic” concept stands out thanks to the choice of materials, including dark lava stone, matt metallic finishes and fine leather: an exciting combination of warmth coupled with cool, rugged nature, creating a mystical sense of originality. Black basalt dominates the room, creating the aura of a volcanic landscape. In combination with dark concrete, black steel, satin-finished glass and, above all, dark textiles and leather, the environment acquires a homely atmosphere and a particularly high-quality spatial effect, which is further enhanced by the exquisite Platinum matt finish of the CYO fittings.
The effect of the new “Delight” design concept is completely different. Marked by a minimalist design concept, the room features a light character. Here, the aesthetics combine restrained steel and concrete with round shapes and pastel accents. Exposed concrete on the walls and concrete slabs on the floor provide a puristic environment. Coloured acrylic glass and powder-coated aluminium with a mirroring effect create a graphic and multi-dimensional appearance. The room acquires an air of cosiness and lightness thanks to a translucent curtain fabric and deep-pile carpet in pastel shades. The round accents in the architectural design are completed by the CYO fittings – the high-gloss Chrome finishes enhance the light, the shine and the colours.
Dornbracht is now making the new “CYO Roombook” available to architects and planners as a source of inspiration for bathroom planning. It contains detailed descriptions and illustrations of the four CYO architectural worlds. The Roombook can be requested from our sales representatives or directly from Dornbracht via email mail@dornbracht.com or by phone +49 (0)2371 8899 900.
