Creative, innovative and very special – these are the winning projects of the “Building of the Year” award 2022, organized by ArchDaily and supported by Dornbracht as the main sponsor. Since 25 January, 100,000 architects, designers and design enthusiasts have voted online for their favorite project. In 15 categories, they were able to choose between 4,500 works from over 100 countries.
15 objects, which could hardly be more individual, emerged successfully from the competition. They all have in common their outstanding quality and thus also the potential to inspire other architects. But that is not the only thing that makes the work of the winners special: Nature and sustainability are the focus of many projects, including “The Chapel of Sound” from Open Architecture and “Villa M” from Triptyque Architecture. The new interior for Casa Batlló in Barcelona from Kengo Kuma & Associates and the Plaza of Kanagawa Institute of Technology from jenya ishigami + associates in particular impressed with their completely new and unusual solutions. Good craftsmanship is another feature of many of the award-winning projects. This can be seen in particular in these buildings: “Ca’n Terra House” from Ensamble Studio and “Niijima Gakuen Junir College Hall & Chapel” from Tezuka Architects.
Dornbracht warmly congratulates all the winning architects on their success in the “Building of the Year” award 2022.
