Dornbracht launches next strategic development phase
Iserlohn, 9 July 2024
CEO Stefan Gesing leaves the Iserlohn-based fittings manufacturer Dornbracht by mutual agreement on July 8, 2024. This was announced today by Dornbracht AG & Co. KG. This step follows extensive joint deliberations between the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board regarding the future strategic direction of the company.
The Supervisory Board and Executive Board of Dornbracht AG & Co. KG have been able to successfully drive forward the company’s development over the past four years, despite an increasingly challenging market environment. This has laid the foundation for the dynamic continuation of the fittings manufacturer into a new phase of growth. Against this background, Dornbracht is today announcing the mutually agreed termination of the contract with CEO Stefan Gesing. Customers, partners and employees were informed of this change at the same time.
Gesing took over the management of Dornbracht in September 2020 as part of the sale to the strategic investor and current majority shareholder, TRM Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH from Dortmund. Under his leadership, the company has undergone a comprehensive transformation program over the past four years, sustainably expanding its competitiveness in the global market.
The Supervisory Board and Stefan Gesing believe that the modernization has matured to such an extent that Dornbracht is ready for the next development phase of internationalization and the expansion of brand awareness. Stefan Gesing has thus achieved his goals and intends to take on new challenges in the future.
“We would like to thank Stefan Gesing for his valuable contribution to the company’s development and his great personal commitment over the past four years. With him at the helm, together with the team we were able to put the company back on the road to success. We wish him all the best for the future,” says Matthias Dornbracht, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dornbracht AG & Co. KG.
Under the leadership of Caroline Schmitt, who was presented by the Supervisory Board as Head of Marketing and Sales in May, the experienced management team will take over the leadership of the company. At the same time, the search is on for a suitable addition to the Management Board.
“We took this next step in the Supervisory Board together with the Executive Board. Caroline Schmitt will lead Dornbracht dynamically into the future with her extensive expertise and experience from her past engagements in large, internationally active companies,” says the majority shareholder, TRM Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH.
Dornbracht has undergone far-reaching strategic and structural changes since September 2020, which have resulted in positive developments in production, services and the portfolio, among other things. Despite the ongoing market and global political crises, the company can look back on a successful development. Internationalization played a key role in this, including the establishment of new branches in the fast-growing Asian markets and the opening of showrooms in Shanghai, Singapore and, most recently, in the design metropolis of Milan.
