Dornbracht ReCrafted is being presented with the German Sustainability Award
Iserlohn, 6 November 2024
Dornbracht ReCrafted is being presented with the German Sustainability Award in the “Product” category. This makes the Iserlohn-based fittings manufacturer’s innovative business model one of the best solutions for a sustainable future. The award will be presented as part of the seventeenth German Sustainability Day, held on 29 November 2024, in Düsseldorf.
Dornbracht ReCrafted won over the six members of the interdisciplinary panel making up the expert jury in the key transformation area of “Resources”. This honours circular business models that have a significant impact on resource conservation and therefore contribute to sustainable change, which is something that applies to Dornbracht ReCrafted: Since 2023, the company has been taking back its own products, remanufacturing them at the Iserlohn plant and putting them back into circulation in the market. This way, each reconditioned fitting will save around 40% of CO2 emissions, compared to a new product. The offer is aimed at end consumers and hotel operators.
“Winning the German Sustainability Award is a great endorsement of our work. It makes me immensely proud that such a top-class jury appreciates the timeless nature of our products and the effectiveness of our business model”, says Dornbracht board of director’s Caroline Schmitt. “I’m looking forward to the award ceremony at the end of November. We will soak up the ‘Big Picture’ in matters of sustainability and engage in discussion with other award winners – a valuable source of inspiration for further measures.”
Dornbracht ReCrafted is part of a holistic sustainability approach that the company has pursued since its foundation in 1950. This includes, for example, enduring product design, certified energy and environmental management systems, electricity from renewable energy sources and short delivery distances. Thanks to this commitment, Dornbracht was also nominated as a finalist in the “Company” category of the German Sustainability Award. This makes the fittings manufacturer one of the leading pioneers for sustainable transformation.
