Unusual, playful and full of contrasts: the “Haus A” in Bonn with products from Dornbracht and Alape
With the “Haus A” in Bonn, the office “hell und freundlich” has created something very special: Both, the open architecture and the detailed furnished interiors, create an ensemble with a unique character. This is underlined by the Dornbracht fittings and the Alape washbasins in the bathrooms.
Four cubes, three storeys
The three-storey building consists of four cubes that are arranged offset to each other. They all look like self-sufficient structures. This effect is reinforced by the different façades – made of dark wood or light-coloured clinker bricks. The large window fronts unify the entire ensemble and make it appear open as well as modern.
Perfectly coordinated interiors
Unusual wallpapers, tactilely appealing fabrics, individual fixtures and special lighting concepts create a harmonious picture in the interiors. The focal point and highlight of the house is the open-plan living and dining area. While a crackling fireplace invites you to stay warm in winter, the spacious natural pool in the garden provides cooling in summer.
Bathrooms with charm
The dynamic, unusual design of the rooms also runs through the three bathrooms: In the children’s bathroom, a wallpaper with cranes in a shallow body of water interspersed with reeds sets the tone. The hexagonal tiles in maritime blue underneath contrast directly with the white washbasin and bathtub. The three Meta fittings by Dornbracht as a wall-mounted mixer with lever handle blend ideally into their surroundings, as they stylishly subordinate themselves to the more striking room elements. The Matte Black surfaces calm the interplay of colours, shapes and materials.
In the master bathroom on the first floor, the wallpaper once again catches the eye: Here, a light bamboo forest covers the wall, with small blue parrots sitting in its branches. The two Aqua bowl basins by Alape in Deep Indigo perfectly match the blue-green tiles. The enamelled surface of the basins is characterised by visual depth and an iridescent gradient. Two Meta fittings – also here in Matte Black as a wall mixer with lever handle – blend ideally into the overall picture.
The wallpaper makes the guest bathroom look like a misty jungle. On the wooden washbasin, a free-standing Meta in Matte Black with raised pedestal is set centre stage. The Aqua bowl basin, which shimmers Deep Green, ideally complements the natural ambience of the room.
