A combination of nature and luxury: The new lakeside cabins in the Priesteregg Premium Eco Resort with Aquahalo from Dornbracht

Iserlohn, 10 September 2024

A unique symbiosis of mountains, forests, water, and light: The Priesteregg Premium Eco Resort in Leogang in the province of Salzburger Land has added some exclusive accommodation to its range. Since July, three luxurious lakeside cabins with their own bathing bay, panoramic sauna, hot tub, and wood-heated outdoor bathtub have been made available to guests. Fittings and the sculptural Aquahalo shower from the manufacturer Dornbracht are continuing to be an important part of the overall experience.

Contemporary design, alpine charm
“Our vision when converting the cabins was, on the one hand, to provide a setting for the remarkable location and wonderful nature of the immediate vicinity and to bring this inside through large glass panels. On the other hand, we wanted to combine an absolute feeling for nature with grounded luxury,” says Hubert Oberlader, owner, and host of the Priesteregg. For the residential ensembles, the previous mountain chalets were enlarged by around 50 square metres and fitted with generous glass fronts. They are located next to a natural pond, which has been transformed into a bathing lake and attracts visitors with its crystal-clear spring water. Inside, you will find an interior that combines rugged alpine charm with bright rooms and contemporary design elements. The open-plan kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining and living area. Custom-made, rustic wooden furniture, fluffy armchairs, and numerous plants create a cosy atmosphere, complemented by a freestanding bath. Also freestanding is a Vaia bath fitting in Brushed Platinum created for Dornbracht by Sieger Design, its Transitional Style emphasising the combination of established and new that makes the design concept so distinctive.

Living and wellness combined
The upper floors also reflect this. In addition to the bedrooms, cosy sofa areas and an incomparable view of the natural bay await. The special feature: The bathrooms are directly integrated into the bedrooms. Vaia is found here on washstands made from wood and natural stone, with the Champagne (22kt Gold) finish harmonising with the warm, wood tones around it. The shower cubicle is reminiscent of a grotto, where the highlight proves to be the water sculpture Aquahalo – also in Champagne (22kt Gold) and designed by Michael Neumayr: The three flow modes of the Dornbracht experience shower create moments of relaxation for the body and mind, and fit perfectly into the resort’s comprehensive well-being approach: Luxury combined with a feeling for nature.

Innovative energy concept
For hosts Renate and Hubert Oberlader, it was natural that the redesign of the chalets should go hand in hand with ecological optimisation. The considerate use of resources and the surrounding nature is in line with the philosophy and self-image of the mountain village. Almost the entire energy supply comes from renewable resources: Geothermal energy, air heat pumps, wastewater, heat pumps, ice storage, photovoltaics, bio-liquid gas, and biomass are used for this purpose. More will be added as a result of the remodelling: Surplus heat from the lakeside cabins is now fed directly into the energy centre and used to heat the water and pools. Energy is also extracted from the bathing lake in winter by means of a surface collector in the ground, which in turn is available for heating. A unique project in Europe that also serves research purposes: Various sensors in the lake collect valuable data for future, comparable projects with standing water.
