This country house in Flanders, designed by the Belgian office MarS Architects, has an unusual and inviting appearance: A thatched roof encloses the main and outbuildings of the ensemble like a cocoon. Thus, it radiates cosiness as well as hospitality and blends ideally into the surroundings. This is also reflected in the interiors, which are modern and simple.

Success for outstanding architecture: fifteen “Building of the Year” award winners are confirmed

The "Building of the Year" Award 2023, supported by Dornbracht as the main sponsor and organized by ArchDaily, recognizes creative, innovative, and exceptional projects. Since January 31st, over 100,000 architects, designers, and design enthusiasts have voted online for their favorite projects. The winners in 15 categories were selected from a pool of over 4,500 entries from more than 100 countries.

Between monastery walls and a botanical garden: the Botanic Sanctuary in Antwerp

The Swiss architect Ernst Gisel created something very special in Erlenbach near Lake Zurich: Differentiated spatial layers, expressive exposed concrete, rounded wall ends and a staircase connecting all levels characterise the ensemble of two semi-detached houses. Victoria Maria faced a correspondingly great challenge in its conversion: She managed to preserve the individual character of the house while at the same time setting new, exciting accents. An essential part of this was the redesign of the kitchen and the bathrooms, in which TARA and META by Dornbracht were used.

Experience music with all your senses in the C. Bechstein flagship store

Experience, see and feel music – the C. Bechstein flagship store in Düsseldorf makes all this possible. Designer Nik Schweiger was inspired by the pianos of the premium manufacturer and created a space that shows off the keyboard of the various models. In the bathrooms, the Vaia Dornbracht fitting designed by Sieger Design and the Aqua Alape bowl basin complement the concept.

The conversion of a multi-storey residential loft in Zurich shows how sustainability and design requirements can be combined. Dornbracht’s timeless strategy makes a significant contribution to achieving this maxim: The manufacturer’s concealed products from 2000 remained in place. Instead of replacing them completely, they were fitted with new fittings. In this way, and with impressive precision, the architectural office Huggenbergerfries achieved the demanding balancing act between old and new.
