Since being founded, Dornbracht has also been at the forefront of sustainability efforts. Our commitment to improving energy and resource efficiency runs deep – from our manufacturing practices and supplier procurement, to the functionality of the final product.
Our Process
Dornbracht has been carbon neutral since the end of 2021. This milestone has been a long time coming, as we continue to implement measures to reduce CO2 emissions. At the same time, we also began using electricity derived exclusively from renewable energy plants.
We try to make sure that nothing goes to waste at our facilities. That includes energy, water and raw materials. Our waste management system allows us to recycle 96% of excess materials. And our state-of-the-art extraction and filter systems prevent liquid and dust pollutants from leaving our facilities and harming the environment.
Our Suppliers
When it comes to our suppliers, we place an emphasis on local proximity to our facilities in order to protect the environment from unnecessary emissions associated with long travel. Today, 80% of our raw materials come from Germany, most within a 200km radius. Sharing similar sustainability goals and efforts is an essential component of our supplier evaluation process.
Our Products
Dornbracht was the first manufacturer in Europe to convert to all lead-free materials, meeting the strictest standards of water consumption in the world, including California Proposition 65.
This allows our showerheads to effectively reduce water consumption by up to 50%.
We are staunch advocates of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, particularly the ecological goals like Climate Protection Measures (No. 13). Dornbracht also puts people first, so we’re committed to the UN Goals of Health and Well-Being (No. 3) and Eliminating Inequalities (No. 10).
