Relaxation in the Sauerland: Meta from Dornbracht at the Hotel Seegarten

The Hotel & Restaurant Seegarten in Sundern in the Sauerland region is convincing in many respects: With its direct location on Lake Sorpe, a design-strong architecture, modern rooms and renowned restaurants, the 4-star accommodation is a feel-good place for vacationers. In order to live up to this claim in the long term, the owner and operator Olaf Baumeister has the buildings and interiors continuously extended. Most recently, some of the rooms were completely renovated and equipped with fittings from Dornbracht.

Furniture and home accessories from the region
As in the other rooms of the hotel, the choice of furniture and bathroom interiors can be seen as a clear commitment to the region: They are manufactured by companies from the Sauerland region and North Rhine-Westphalia. Dornbracht, for example, is also represented with fittings and shower solutions from the Meta series as well as the Aquamoon wellness shower.

“I have a passion for strong design, high-quality materials and exceptional surfaces. In Dornbracht, we have found a partner who more than meets these requirements. The fact that the fittings come from Iserlohn convinces me even more,” says Olaf Baumeister about the partnership with the premium manufacturer.

Meta in Black matt in the bathrooms
The Berlin-based Studio Aisslinger is responsible for the design of the new rooms. The architects placed particular emphasis on a light, spacious design. Only a half-height wall and slats of light wood separate the bathroom from the bedroom – an aspect that makes the chambers appear particularly open.

In the bathroom, two free-standing fittings from the Meta series make a real statement. To match: a wall-mounted single-lever mixer next to the tub. The Black matt surfaces provide an exciting contrast to the Terrazzo natural stone, which is used extensively. Their monochromatic elegance calms the striking patterning of the stone. “Leading Designs for Architecture” – the Hotel Seegarten in Sundern is a prime example of Dornbracht’s promise to create groundbreaking products for special architectures.

On the outside, a solar panel system was installed on the roof and the placement of the windows face north, which allows less heat gain in the home while still letting in a lot of light.

The northern corridor is comprised of the living room, kitchen, dining area and an outdoor terrace. The southern corridor is more private in nature where the den, three bedrooms and two bathrooms reside, featuring Dornbracht faucets.

The IMO faucet complements the soothing, neutral bathroom and in the tub shower is a LULU integrated thermostat with slide bar set and a LULU tub spout.

@dbarchitecture Bridge House is located in Brookside, a small but well-known Los Angeles neighborhood.

A quick glance at Bridge House’s exterior may tell you that Brunn was highly influenced by his childhood in Tel Aviv, a city known for its concentration of Bauhaus-style buildings and architecture.

Inside @bridgehousela , which is relatively spacious at 4,500 square feet, certainly could have felt narrow and long if it hadn’t been for Brunn’s thoughtful planning. Twenty feet wide, the home elegantly flows from one space into the next.

As a child, Dan Brunn recalls his showers were powered by a passive-energy water heater which did not use a pump to circulate water. Rather, it collected heat from the sun to warm up the natural resource. It was this mindset to conserve, conserve, conserve that changed his approach to working with water, for example, installing the solar panel system and having a solar-heated pool.
